Green Plate
Mobile App Design

Prototype Link

Green Plate is a design project I created while enrolled in the CalArts UX/UI Design program. Green Plate is an app that can be used to find vegan-friendly restaurants for vegan eaters within a given state where the user selects. This app would also allow people to leave reviews, post images of their meals and restaurant atmosphere, and share menus and feedback about the dining experience. To use Green Plate, the user would open the app on their smartphone and then can either click on a state on the map image or can select a state from the drop down menu. The app would then display a list of all vegan friendly restaurants within that state along with a rating, location, and phone number. The map of the state (above the list) would show a green plate icon over each vegan restaurant location and the user could tap the plate to display the listing for that specific location. If the user taps a location, it would bring the user to a second screen with more info about that restaurant and also buttons for “menu”, “website”, “call”, and “go”. A tap on “menu” would bring the user to the restaurant’s menu, “website” would exit the app and open the website for that restaurant in a browser, “call” would activate a call to the restaurant from the user’s smartphone, and “go” would begin navigation to the restaurant from the user’s smartphone gps.
