Creating Water Filters

  • Mar 8, 2016

Students have spent time learning about the hydrological cycle and now we will be creating our own unique experiments to explore water filtration. We have learned about the different ways we can clean water and now we will put them to the test! Students will be designing and creating their own filters to filter out the solution of their choice. We will be using a refractometer to measure the % Brix remaining in the water. Some students have chosen to filter salt water, some sugar water, some dirty water, and some food colored water. We will be testing evaporation methods, water filters made from ingredients in nature, and store bought filters.
